Aspirations: Being inspired as a member of an Junior elite Training Group
Training Group Coached by: Dan Cossins, speed consultant at Bath University comprising of Romaine Hyman (National Champs medalist), Danny Talbot (National Champs Medalist, World championships 2010) Scott Bajere (National 60m Medalist) and Elliot Prendergast (National Champs Medalist).
Dewayne also teaches at Greenford High School after school club on Tuesday & Friday afternoons and trains twice a day on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday.

So... What is RAFFA?
RAFFA International Development Agency, is an independent charity, which was launched by the Church of God of Prophecy at the House of Lords on Thursday 26th November 2006. This was hosted by Baroness Howells of St David and the keynote address was given by Bishop Adrian Varlack, Sr, . RAFFA benefits from the experience of Trustees who have a proven track record of achievement over the last 40 years throughout the continent of Africa and the Caribbean.

FOUR facts about RAFFA in Jamaica
- 1. RAFFA International Development Agency, was launched at the House of Lords London on 26/11/06. RAFFA, aims to facilitate community innovation and reduce inequalities by encouraging enterprise and increased productivity amongst individuals.2. RAFFA has been supporting social action projects in Jamaica since 2007, by organising a Mary Seacole Heritage Festival and knowledge sharing symposium for health professionals, supplying computers for primary schools and specialist medical equipment for the National Transfusion Services.
3. RAFFA, provides free website space, technical assistance, programme development services and promotion for Project owners. RAFFA recently launched the Jamaica Education Initiative and Festival of Jamaica 2012: Inspired Social Action to improve cooperation between project owners and beneficiaries.
4. RAFFA and it’s host COGOP have been awarded the coveted London 2012 Inspire mark for Passing the Baton Festival: Inspiring ‘peaceful, caring & enterprising neighbourhoods’. The programme of inter-related events and activities comprise of youth, health & wellbeing, business & enterprise, learning & skills and volunteering for social action.

High Commissioner, H.E. Anthony Johnson attended an Award Ceremony today for Dewayne Simms, our first Passing the Baton Ambassador, in Southall.
Dewayne Simms is supported by a mentor, Leslie Cooper and we have appointed him as a Passing the Baton Youth Ambassador. He is also an athlete with potential and volunteers his support for younger children:

- In 2010/2011 he was ranked 10th in the UK
- Since 2008 he has trained with the Jamaican Athletic squad for when they compete in the UK.
- He broke all running records at Greenford High School
- Received an award for the Descendants 4th Achievement Award Ceremony

RAFFA and its host COGOP have been awarded the coveted London 2012 Inspire mark for the “Passing the Baton Festival”.
The festival aims to inspire “peaceful, caring & enterprising neighbourhoods” through various activities and events. It aims to engage and equip individuals with skills for the future.
Seb Coe, Chair of the London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games and Paralympic
Games said: “The Inspire programme is ensuring the legacy of the 2012 Games starts now as projects like Passing the Baton are enabling people in neighbourhoods to make life changes”.
Rudi Page, CEO of RAFFA and Executive member of More Than Gold, stated “This is a very exciting achievement, we are delighted to receive this award from the London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games (LOCOG), it has taken a lot of hard work and dedication to achieve this recognition. We aim to connect and inspire sustainable relationships across countries, communities, cultures and generations”.
